Emma Lavery is a designer and maker of contemporary studio jewellery. Influenced by a background in Fine Art, she is drawn towards balance, asymmetry and repetition in her work, and seeks to explore contrasts in textures, materials and finishes. Inspiration comes from the graphic colours, shapes and patterns found in Japanese art, and Mid-Century design and the clean, bold lines of Modern architecture. Her work encapsulates elegant simplicity through innovative design and traditional craftsmanship.
Designs are individually handmade, in limited editions and small batches, using precious metals along with Polymer Clay and Murano Glass to create rich and colourful palettes, often with unexpected details.
Emma is a member of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery.
Our Philosophy - A Commitment To Craft
Made In England... Made by human hands... Made not manufactured...
Very much concerned with the making process itself, Emma focuses her passion for craftsmanship on creating a body of work that speaks simultaneously of delicacy and strength. Fuelled by cross-disciplinary curiosity, she blurs the line between Fine and Applied Art, blending traditional metalworking techniques with some spectacular new alternative materials. Each piece is its own work of art, made entirely by hand in her studio near Bath.
"I approach jewellery design as an art form, translated into very stylish modern jewellery that can be worn formally, casually, or anywhere in between."
Emma Lavery proudly holds a hallmark registered at The Goldsmiths' Company Assay Office in London.
A hallmark is a quality control mark on jewellery made of precious metal. All items that are legally required to be hallmarked will be done so, and stamped with ERL - Emma's Markers Mark, so you can be sure of the provenance, content and purity of our pieces.
